WC Students

This ministry's goal is to teach students the Gospel and connect them with other Christians, so they can grow in their faith, take ownership of their relationships with Jesus, and honor God with their lives and choices.
"Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”

- 1 Timothy 4:12

The WC Student Ministry Team is so excited to launch registration for the High School Mission Trip! This week-long trip will provide students with the opportunity to serve the people of Memphis while growing in their faith alongside their peers.

All students of the graduating classes of 2023-2027 are welcome to register for the High School Mission Trip. Attached is the information packet.

    WAIT LIST
Because space is limited for both trips, ALL students will initially be placed on a WAIT LIST on a first come first served basis and when an adult signs up, five students will be placed on the final roster. If a parent of a student on the wait list registers as a work group leader, their student will automatically be added to the final roster.

    COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS
This year, we will be granting 20 community service hours for mission trip participants.

    PAYMENTS
We understand that these are very challenging times. If you would like to discuss different payment plans or financial assistance, please contact Darla Barnes. This information will remain completely confidential.

    Senior Bible Study
    Feb. 8 | March 8

    Two is Better/Student Manistry
    Picture
    February 3-5, 2023
    Sky Ranch

Each year, 8th-12th grade students are invited to participate in Two is Better and Student Manistry. The two retreats occur simultaneously but guys and girls will participate in separate activities. Both provide an opportunity for students to engage the Lord while they grow in community with their peers. Splitting up the guys and girls allows each group to enjoy activities they may not be able to do otherwise. For the first time ever, both Two is Better and Student Manistry will be held at Sky Ranch.

Early bird pricing is $99 and then will increase to $149 on January 12.

    Crave and Intersection
    Picture
Crave & Intersection is two separate worship services. Crave is for Middle School (7-8th Grades) and Intersection is for High School (9-12th Grades) students that meet every week in the Second Floor Student Education Building. Crave is from 5:45 to 7 p.m. and Intersection is from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. These events include games, worship and teaching as well as a chance to grow closer to their peers and God at White's Chapel.

    Cell Groups
    Picture
Cell groups were created to help students find community and walk out their faith with their peers. Middle and high school students meet in small groups lead by adult leaders each Sunday during the school year. Cell groups are a great entry point for those who might be more anxious about larger group gatherings. During their time together students enjoy fellowship and small group discussion about their faith. They provide a safe place for students to ask hard questions, share their struggles and victories, and encourage one another through accountability. To learn more about cell groups, contact Shelby Aman.

    Sunday Mornings 7th - 12th Grade
    Picture
Current 7th-12th grade students are invited to join WC Students on Sunday Mornings for Bible study at 11 a.m. on the second floor in the Student Education Building. Each week will begin with worship together followed by break out groups. All groups will walk through the Bible—Genesis through Revelation. Middle school students will focus on characters, high school students on books, and senior high will focus on themes. We hope these three tracks will allow students to graduate from the program with a thorough knowledge of Scripture.

Sunday mornings seem to get better every week! If you have not had the chance to join us, we would love to see you this Sunday. Each week there are more students sitting together during the 9:30 a.m. Contemporary Service in the Sanctuary. Everyone is welcome to come sit with us on the far right (if you are looking at the stage).

    Thrive
    Picture
Thrive is a buddy program that will work as a support ministry for students who may need additional support in the Sunday school hour at 11 a.m. This is open for all students ranging from 7th through 12th grade, who would benefit from a one-on-one, or even a friend to help make life a little easier. If you have a student who could benefit from this program but they are in 6th grade or younger, please contact Alyson Bator.

If you are interested in your student having a Thrive Buddy, please contact Floyd Joseph.

Cell groups were created to help students find community and walk out their faith with their peers.  They meet in host homes around the area weekly and are lead by adult leaders.  During their time together students enjoy fellowship and small group discussion about their faith.

In order to keep groups small and open them up to younger students, we are always in need of adult leaders. If you or someone you know is interested, please sign up. We will provide Bible studies and support along the way. The church can also be a place for hosting groups, if that is preferred.

For more information about Cell Groups, please contact Shelby Aman.
