We believe fostering a personal faith in Jesus Christ in children is one of the most important parts of being a community church. There are many available ministries created for each and every age group, from nursery to sixth grade.
WCKids Sunday: 9:30 & 11 a.m. services
Explore is an exciting learning opportunity for infants through kindergarten-aged children. Our youngest students will gather for a time of creative storytelling and active worship and explore the Bible through a variety of hands-on activities.
Engage gives students in first through sixth grade the opportunity to connect with the Bible through a variety of hands-on activities. Students will experience the lessons through art, drama, food, games, missions, movies and science, leading students into meaningful conversations.
WCKids Worship is a high-energy worship experience designed with kids in mind! Through captivating skits, interactive games, active worship and a relevant message from the Bible, students will experience God in a new, exciting way.
WCKids Wednesday: 6 to 7 p.m.
During the school year, Wednesday nights at White's Chapel are full of family fun! Children three years of age and older are invited to join our MiniJam session while their parents are involved in on campus classes, events or fellowship. Our four to six year olds can sing and play in our KidzPraise program where they will learn songs, Bible verses and even make a craft. Our 1st through 6th graders are invited to join other students in their grade level for a time of Bible study and fellowship, including organized games and interactive learning. There is something for everyone on Wednesday night!
Saturday Night Kids: 5:45 to 6:30 p.m.
Children ages 4 through 6th grade are invited to join WCKids staff for children's programming during the Saturday Night Bridge service. Children will be dismissed to the back of the Bridge by a pastor after opening worship. WCKids staff will split the group into classrooms based on age and number of children. Programming mirrors Sunday morning small group time and includes bible stories, along with conversations and activities that enhance the lesson.
MiniJam is available throughout the entire service for children 3 yrs old and under. The nursery is open from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m.
5th & 6th Grade Confirmation
The Confirmation Experience at White’s Chapel will guide each student in professing their belief in Jesus Christ, exploring the Christian faith, and helping them understand what it means to be a full member of White’s Chapel United Methodist Church. This experience ends with a service in which the students will be welcomed into full membership of White’s Chapel!
Parent meeting Sunday, Jan. 19 at 12:15 p.m. in Grace Chapel. Confirmation classes are Sunday, Jan. 26, Feb. 2, 9, 16 from 2-4:00 p.m. in The Bridge. The Confirmation Service is on February 23 at 1:30. The expectation is that students will attend all four classes and the confirmation service.
Arts Academy Registration is Now Open!
The WCKids Arts Academy gives children the opportunity to express their creativity through a variety of engaging art forms. Each class focuses on the gifts that God gives each of us and celebrates the differences. We have added new classes, including a theater show for fourth through sixth graders and a specialty sewing class! Registration is open online and classes begin the week of January 27. We hope you will join us as we explore the world of art. If you are interested in sharing your talents with our students, we’d love to hear from you!
Birds and Bees, Oh Help Me Please!
Instead of growing up without any knowledge of ‘the birds and the bees’, what if children grew up knowing the value and purposes of sex? What if they understood the design of birth, conception, and reproduction? And better yet, what if they learned this from conversations with the people who love them the most? We believe parents can be prepared, encouraged, and equipped for these conversations. Join Michelle Tempesta for this six week class for parents that offers a simple and extremely effective six-step strategy that takes their knowledge from that of preschool to that of a preteen. Registration is required, cost is $10 per family. Workbooks will be available for purchase in the bookstore, but are not required.
KidsJam/Kcrew Family Event
Sunday, Jan. 19 at 12:15 p.m. at Wesley Cafe
WCKids is excited to host another KidsJam/KCrew event to spread kindness in our community. After a pizza lunch, we will work on a fun activity. The playground will be open for fun and fellowship following the activity.
Say Yes! to Volunteering
Say yes to the opportunity to see how God is working in WCKids! Hold a baby, create a masterpiece with a kindergartener, share a bible story with a second grader or get to know a sixth grader. You can do all of this and more any Sunday! When you serve in WCKids you have the opportunity to love kids, meet and connect with other volunteers and grow in your own walk with God.
To volunteer with preschool:
To volunteer with elementary students:
Parents Unlimited (a division of WCKids) is provided on the fourth Tuesday night of each month from 6 to 8 p.m. for elementary-aged children with special needs and their siblings.
Team 12 Faith Builders
Sunday, Jan. 19
Team 12 Faith Builders is a monthly meeting for first and second graders to explore the foundations of our Christian faith. This is a time for students to spend time together, make new friends, and encounter God’s truth in a fun and relevant way. Throughout the year, students will come together for games, art, service projects and more!
Each activity will point back to foundational parts of our faith such as The Lord’s Prayer, the Books of the Bible, Fruit of the Spirit, the Greatest Commandment… just to name a few!
Sunday, Jan. 19
Humanity Missions is a monthly opportunity for third and fourth graders to join together and work on mission-based service projects.
When faced with the reality that there are people in need in the world, it is comforting to know there is something we can do about it, no matter our age. Teaching children about the needs of the world, and their ability to help, helps kids grow up with an awareness of God’s command to share the Gospel and serve those in need. We begin in WCKids Room 7 at 12:15 with a pizza lunch and then will work on a fun mission project.
Club 56 - Monday, Jan 20
5th & 6th graders meet us at Dave and Buster's for a fun day off from school. Play in their Million Dollar Midway with some of their biggest, newest and most exclusive arcade games and maybe find some of your old favorites. We will have cheeseburgers and fries for lunch.
Do you have a heart for children? Or even to just try out a new ministry of volunteerism in our church? We would love to have you help give our WC Kids the greatest gift of all – our time!
Be a part of what God is doing at White’s Chapel! Sign up to minister to our children on Sunday mornings. Volunteering is not just about helping others; it’s one of the best ways to grow in your relationship with God. Get involved by serving alongside others who share your enthusiasm for Christ. WCKids: Engage – Grades 1-4
Our program is growing and we couldn’t be more thrilled! As we continue to grow, so does our need for volunteers. Our Engage classes allow volunteers to commit to one month at a time, so if you are interested in art, food, games, movies, science, drama or missions please let us know! We’d love to get you plugged into a class as soon possible, please sign up for one or more of these exciting opportunities and the month(s) that works best for you.
