Every Thursday, mentor 30+ at-risk young girls and boys from 2nd-5th grade. Volunteers are required to have a willingness to form relationships with these young children.

Serving with LOVE

When: Monthly

Every second Saturday of the month, we travel to the Women and Children’s Shelter in Fort Worth to serve dinner, play games with the children and moms and engage in conversation with them. Meet at the church at 4:30 for briefing: we are typically finished by 6:30-6:45. Families are welcome but children must be at least eight years of age and accompanied by parents. You must register with FaithWorks.

Assistance is given to at-risk students that need help with math or english. This is four days in June where you would have the opportunity to coach young children.

Tutors

When: During the School Year

Weekly assistance during the school year helping at-risk elementary children with their studies. You can tutor in reading, math, science or if bi-lingual there are opportunities as well. Tutors work with our partner school in Haltom City, O.H. Stowe Elementary.

Teacher Support

Teachers are provided with a back-to-school lunch and to help kick off the school year. We help with back-to-school breakfast for teachers and other appreciation events during the school year. Schedule is flexible.

Agape Meal

Every 4th Thursday, a team serve others in Ft. Worth at Broadway Baptist Church.

Cooking with Care at Ronald McDonald House

Teams go to Ronald McDonald House the second and third Monday of each month to cook for families of Cook Children’s. Time frame is from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Habitat for Humanity

FaithWorks either sponsors a house or contributes sponsorships dollars to help fund some of the house.

GRACE/Feed Our Kids

First three weeks of June, volunteers provide lunches at their expense for 85 to 130 children at the Grace Food Pantry, Monday through Friday.

Food Drive

UMCOR – Early Response Disaster Recovery Team

Volunteers go through an extensive eight-hour training by UMCOR on how to assist in the event of a natural, or man-made disaster. Teams are called to serve when we receive notice by the Central Texas Conference Coordinator. Teams typically serve three to four days at a time.

Have you already been certified as an Emergency Response Team Member, but need to renew your certification? Join us for this four-hour event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. You will register through the Central Texas Conference website, but contact FaithWorks for the process. There is a $30 cost involved, which is paid directly to the Central Texas Conference. For more information and to sign up, contact Rev. Home with a Heart

Men and women are working with area agencies to renovate apartments for individual families transitioning out of homelessness to permanent housing. There are two opportunities: remodel, and  decorate/set up the household.

Join this exceptional group of men that are the hands and feet of Christ. They remodel and repair apartments, homes, and are literally the hands and feet of Christ as they serve as they are able. All different kinds of opportunities are available during the week and weekend. You are sent a text and if you can help, simply respond. If not, that’s ok. There is always the next time!

Join this exceptional group of ladies that are the hands and feet of Christ. From running an errand for an elderly person, helping stock a close closet at our partner school, quilting, decorating, cooking, gardening, administrative skills – there is an opportunity for you! Help when you available in any  ministry area that appeals to you. A text will be sent out and you can respond if you are available to help. If you can’t, there is always next time!
