Charitable Gifts
You can place your cash or checks in the offering plates, drop them off at the accounting office or mail your checks to the accounting department. White’s Chapel also accepts non-cash gifts, such as stocks or bonds.
There are two donation categories for online giving. Tithes and Offerings go to the church’s operating fund, which are used to pay for the missions and ministries of the church as well as utilities and operation of the facilities. Debt Reduction is used to directly reduce the principal balance on building debt. All interest on building debt is paid from the operating fund. If you are thinking about a debt reduction gift, we ask that you prayerfully consider it over and above your regular tithe.
Online Payments
Online giving can be accomplished from this website using your debit card or MasterCard or VISA credit card. We also accept electronic checks. Click below to access our secure online giving site.
We are adding giving kiosks to our campus. One will be located in the sanctuary narthex, near the north stairwell and the other in the office lobby, near ConneXion Point. You can also access our secure giving site from your iPhone at giving.whiteschapelumc.com.
Any of the online methods will allow you to enter a one-time gift or schedule a monthly recurring contribution. Please keep in mind that White’s Chapel incurs fees for each of these methods. The least expensive is the e-check, followed by the debit card then the credit cards. There is also a reduced rate when a card is swiped instead of just entering the numbers. If you schedule a recurring payment with your debit or credit card, setting it up initially using one of the giving kiosks will give us the reduced rate on even the recurring transactions. The less we spend in transaction fees, the more of your money is available for the missions and ministries of the church.
You will also see online payment designations for Chapel Hill Children’s School Tuition and Wedding Payments. On the kiosks, we are limited to a maximum of 6 payment designations. Therefore, designations for event registrations payments will be activated as needed. Wednesday Night Dinners will display on the kiosks during the school year so you can swipe your card and take your printed receipt to the hostess table to retrieve your dinner ticket(s).
Registration Payments
The online giving/payment system we are using was actually designed for charitable gifts and we don’t have the ability to change some of the headings or field names. Some of the terminology looks like you are making a donation even when you are making a payment for an event. Please be assured that it is the item that you select from the drop-down list when making your payment that determines where your money is applied. You can print a receipt, which will display the designation you selected.
You can register for an event using the calendar program on the website, but all online payments associated with the registration will now come through this single method.
