Coming in July: The Screwtape Letters Study by C.S. Lewis

We have lots of biblical evidence regarding God’s take on this world and his creation. But, did you ever wonder how the opposing forces of the prince of darkness view us? Brilliant author and theologian C.S. Lewis (Chronicles of Narnia) offers a tongue-in-cheek peek into the workings of the underworld as Screwtape and his novice tempter, nephew Wormwood, attempt to undermine the resolve of a new Christian.     Through a series of correspondence, this book provides lessons in the importance of taking a deliberate role in living out our Christian faith by portraying a typical human life – with all its temptation and failings – as seen from the perspective of demons. This easily read book offers an abundance of food for thought and for discussion. Join us as we take a closer look at this timeless classic and discover how God can use this masterpiece to elevate our awareness of what it means to live a Christian life in an ever-increasing secular world.      This study, led by Pastor Judy Hunt, will begin on Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at 9:30am and run for seven weeks. Books are available in our church bookstore and childcare is available by contacting Dorothea Christ at ext. 223.
