We seek to make disciples of Jesus Christ by involving people in intercessory prayer for others. The ministry of prayer plays a strategic role at White's Chapel in laying a foundation for God's plans to come forth in the church. It also touches and impacts the lives and diverse needs of many people. If you feel God is calling you to this ministry of prayer, we invite you to join us.

The Prayer Team: Composed of seven teams of 6-7 people who pray independently each week for an updated, confidential list of prayer concerns. They check the Phone Prayer Hot-line (817-481-4147 Ext. 228) and receive email updates for newly added prayer requests. One of our prayer teams is matched each month with one of our pastors to pray for his or her specific needs. A Prayer Focus event is held each year for fellowship and to gain knowledge about intercessory prayer. Contact Karen Hodges 817-481-5932 or Susan Epstein 817-424-5775.

Standing in the Gap Prayer Hour: A small group meets Monday 7-8 PM in church library to pray for needs of church, community, nation, world. Just drop in or Contact Cheryl Mart 817-488-6989.

Worship Service Prayer Team: The prayer ministry has a goal that during every service a team of two will pray throughout the hour for every aspect of the service. Volunteers are asked to commit to one service a month. Contact Alice Hall 817-685-7930 or Lori Smith 817-424-3898.

Prayer Shawl Ministry: Individuals knit or crochet shawls for those who are ill, suffering a loss, or in the midst of crisis. Each shawl is prayed over by the ministry team before the shawl is delivered. Simple instructions and classes are available. Contact Susan Epstein at 817-424-5775.

Men of Prayer Ministry: This group is an informal gathering of God's faithful who meet to pray for the needs of our church and our church family. We discuss concerns of friends and loved one's, issues and opportunities for our church, and the individual needs of the members of our fellowship. Many if not most of our members started with little experience praying with a group, in fact, some of us were rather nervous about it. However, the Christian fellowship, our Book of Prayers, our pray-as-you-are-led attitude and our sincere desire to pray for God's people has helped each of us grow in our spiritual life and our prayer life. We extend an invitation to the men of our congregation to join us on a powerful spiritual journey.  We meet the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 7:00pm in AE 3203. Prayer Labyrinth: Our Prayer Labyrinth is located in the northeast corner of our church campus. It is open for prayer and meditation 24 hours a day. Please feel free to visit the labyrinth as often as you would like. For questions, contact 817-481-4147.

Prayer Chapel: The Ponder Memorial Prayer Chapel was built in honor of Charles Lee Ponder and Charles Lee "Pete" Ponder, Jr. It is a gift to the community from their family and friends, 2002. The chapel is open 24 hours a day. The interior dome which was painted by Chris Pompa declares "But now, this is what the Lord says . . . Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are mine. --Isaiah 43:1

National Day of Prayer: Held in conjunction with the National Day. The sanctuary is opened for prayer all day and information is provided for specific prayer for the Nation and its leaders. The National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 1, 2008.
